The cat (Felis catus), also known as the domestic cat or house cat to distinguish it from other felines, is a small carnivorous species of crepuscular mammal that is often valued by humans for its companionship and its ability to hunt vermin. It has been associated with humans for at least 9,500 years. A skilled predator, the cat is known to hunt over 1,000 species for food. It can be trained to obey simple commands.

The dog (Canis lupus familiaris) is a domesticated subspecies of the wolf, a mammal of the Canidae family of the order Carnivora. The term encompasses both feral and pet varieties and is also sometimes used to describe wild canids of other subspecies or species. The domestic dog has been one of the most widely kept working and companion animals in human history, as well as being a food source in some cultures.

Gravy presents...

What makes your first 'Gravy presents' gig so tasty?

The bands! I knew that I wanted to do 'Gravy presents' nights, but I was waiting for the right time; I wanted it to be simple, but exciting for the right reasons. Other events that I have put on have been drenched in meaning and goodwill – Ladyfest, The Norwich Music Identity – but for this, it had to just be about great live music. I knew the bands that I wanted to get, and formed the night around them.

Please describe each band's music...

COMANECHI: A short satisfying danger wank.

DIVORCE: A hellish rampant skull-fuck.

BROTHERS: Mick Fleetwood getting minimal and trashy.

How can people get tickets?

From me or from the Gravy big cartel: gravy.bigcartel.com

Why have you chosen to use Take 5 crypt and will this be your regular venue?

I like that because of its size, the crypt kind of forces the crowd to touch each other and, therefore, encourages sweaty, intimate enjoyment. I have been involved in a couple of gigs and parties there and they were all shambolic and exciting. It is just a lovely little atmospheric pocket of noise, which suits me, and suits the bands perfectly.

I wouldn't restrict myself to one venue for Gravy gigs though – I love The Crypt, but I love the Arts Centre too – they're probably my favourite venues in Norwich. However, what really interests me is doing something a bit different and creating an exciting atmosphere. There's no money in this kind of thing, so my aim is to put on events that people will remember and take something from and Take 5 provides the perfect platform.

What's the best way to keep tabs on future 'Gravy presents' action?

Probably on the GRAVY facebook group page, or the blog pagesofgravy.blogspot.com
