Our next gig - Reccomended: BBC Norfolk Music Video Festival |
Digging deeperTeam wombatwombat's paws are crossed for sunshine on Sunday 01 August, when we return to the bandstand at Waterloo Park, Angel Road, Norwich, for our eighth free celebration of some the best breaking local and national indie bands. Hurrah! Please join us with a picnic, sun cream, an umbrella plus some cash for a fab day's fun. Weather permitting, our Norwich City Council-sponsored event will run from 1.15pm until 7pm. If it rains heavily the gig will transfer to Norwich Playhouse in St Georges – a short walk from the Park – where our good chums Howlback Hum are hosting another seven bands, also for zero pence, starting soon after 7pm. Compered by BBC Blast reporter, BBC Norfolk Introducing presenter and The Brownies' front grrrl Sophie Little, this year's mini-festival includes sets from five local acts and showcases debut Norwich performances from London's Blue On Blue – featuring ex-An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump member Dee – and Chester-based duo Black Vox. Although the gig is free, all donations will be gratefully received and shared equally between the musicians, so expect a request from a man with a collection bucket! Our running order is: 1:30–2pm: Hellhound Oconnor and the Winkles 2:20–2:50pm: Black Vox 3:10–3:40pm: Glory Glory 4–4:30pm: Olympians 4:50–5:20pm: Blue On Blue 5:40–6:10pm: These Ghosts 6:30–7pm: KunK It's the then time to head over to the Playhouse for Howlback Hum's evening extravaganza, starring Transept, Teknikov, The Milgram Experiment, Sam James Hill, Sebastiana and Teleri. Enjoy! |
