Digging deeperHa! So, after chasing for a date since 2010 – and having been confirmed to play our 2011 birthday and Christmas party for all of an hour-and-three-quarters before having to cancel to stock-up on sleep so they could get properly stuck into their soon-to-be-achieved global domination in 2012 – Dry the River finally play wombatwombat. It'll be awesome, just like their records and videos.
Cut Ribbons, one of a great crop of new Welsh bands, play main support: prepare to be suitably wowed, just like Radio 1, which made Paper Shields, the BBC Introducing Playlist track for w/c 23 April, and which you can download for free from this link. Deers' powerfully beautiful wall of noise and distinct vocals will similarly impress and leave you gagging for more, so make sure you arrive early to catch their set. As Kristin Hersh tweeted after Deers supported Throwing Muses at UEA last November: "You all are sweet as pie… We hope we get to play together again. Good luck! Xo". |
