Digging deeperFriday 08 April 2011: you so need to be at wombatwombat's Norwich Arts Centre gig. Go on, put it in your diary and eagerly anticipate a series of show-stopping sets from three of the most exciting and talented bands of teens and twenty-somethings in the UK. Talons' unparalleled rousing string-led instrumental aural assault is going to tear NAC apart and rip out your heart with a dramatic deft swoop. Hell, yeah! Deers are Norwich's most promising new band and will be giving away free copies of their limited edition four-track EP: enough said. Embarrassing Machines' carefully considered layered, beautiful, experimental noise and spoken word mix hints at a male-fronted Meanwhile, Back In Communist Russia... and is unspeakably glorious. Of course, there's lots more 'mazing music in the bar, courtesy of Howlback Hum, which tonight stars David G Cox, My Dark Aunt, The Dim Goddess and Church + State. That's seven bands for only £6 in advance – on sale now from NAC (01603 660352), Soundclash (01603 761004) and UEA (01603 508050) or online, plus booking fee where applicable – or £8 on the door, from 8pm. Believe us, this gig is unmissable in so many ways: please join us. |
