![]() Islet play wombatwombat's Peel Day on Friday 08 October 2010 @ NACThere's a massive buzz about Islet, to what extent do you think your reported media-shy approach has helped? I don't feel we have been media-shy to be honest – we've done all the interviews and press things we've been asked to do. People expect us to have a gnarly approach to 'media' but we're very sharing! Islet's live performance is compelling: what drives your onstage antics? We love playing live; our performances are very natural and fun. We rehearse like we play and enjoy each other's company on stage. What are the most important things we need to know about your band? These are not necessarily the most important things but it is a list nonetheless:
1. We live in Cardiff. Please tell us about your free visual display/communication device, The Isness... The Isness is one way we communicate with people who are interested in us. We wanted an outlet that didn't involve the internet. It doesn't have a set format but it comes in the post and can contain writing/collage/drawings/photography etc. Which other Cardiff bands should we be listening to and what makes them great? At the moment: Sweet Baboo, H Hawkline and The Failed NASA Experiment, as all have got new releases on Shape Records, a label I [Mark] run with my brothers! Don't be shy, who does what in Islet? Well, we all do lots of things and generally all try to have a really good time. Use this link to hear Islet and see back issues of The Isness here
